Born in the beautiful region of Gakh, Gunel always had a passion for oriental languages. From a young age, she was fascinated by Japanese and decided to pursue this interest at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Baku State University.
At university, she not only learned the Japanese language but also got acquainted with the culture, thanks to visiting professors from Japan. Still, her biggest dream was to see the country with her own eyes. That dream came true when she was invited by a friend studying for a master’s degree in Tokyo.
Her one-month stay in Tokyo became a memorable chapter of her life. Along with discovering the vibrant city, she joined a pedagogical training course on teaching Japanese abroad. The experience was so rich and engaging that the month passed as quickly as a week.
