Chevening Scholarships — Fully Funded UK Master’s Opportunities

What Are Chevening Scholarships?

The Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s flagship international scholarship programme. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations, they offer fully funded one-year master’s degrees at UK universities.

Launched in 1983, Chevening has supported more than 50,000 scholars worldwide. Its mission is to identify individuals with the potential to become future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers.

Why Chevening Exists

Chevening was created to:

  • Build a global network of leaders and professionals;
  • Strengthen ties between the UK and other countries;
  • Empower scholars to return home and drive positive social, political, or economic change.

This is not just financial aid — it’s an investment in people who can create real impact.

Benefits of the Chevening Scholarships

Chevening is one of the most generous scholarships available. It covers:

  • Full tuition fees for one year of study in the UK;
  • Return flights from your home country;
  • Monthly stipend for living expenses;
  • Visa fees and health allowances;
  • Arrival and departure allowances.

In addition, scholars gain:

  • Access to exclusive Chevening events, workshops, and internships;
  • Networking opportunities with 46,000+ alumni worldwide;
  • A platform to become part of a global leadership community.

  • Have at least 2 years (2,800 hours) of work experience (can include volunteering, internships, or freelance work);
  • Apply to three eligible UK master’s courses;
  • Commit to returning home for at least two years after graduation.
